THE SIGNIFICANCE OF MARKER-ASSISTED SELECTION (MAS) METHOD IN THE CREATION OF NEW VARIETIES OF AGRICULTURAL CROPS

This article describes the effectiveness of the MAS (marker-assisted selection) method in creating new varieties of crops, methods for effective early selection of F2 hybrids. In this experiment, several cotton varieties resistant to sucking pests were tested, samples resistant to spider mites were selected from them, and hybrid combinations were selected using specific markers in the early stages. The effectiveness of the marker selection method in agriculture was also analyzed.
