PUBLIC FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT: PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT

Abstract

Currently, Uzbekistan is the only Central Asian state that has assessed the effectiveness of public financial management and their compliance with seven performance criteria (budget sustainability; transparency of public finances; asset and liability management; fiscal strategy and policy-based budgeting; predictability and control over budget execution; accounting and reporting; external control and audit) according to the PEFA methodology.
