According to the author, the transition to a competency-oriented model was marked by a shift in emphasis from knowledge of rules and norms to the effectiveness of speech behavior. Home reading as an aspect of speaking practice in a primary foreign language allows you to implement the principles of the communicative activity approach and solve a number of other issues related to the preparation of undergraduate degrees.
