Combining ultrasound with other techniques leads to highly efficient results in treating calcification. This study combines two techniques to treat calcification: the first is physical, represented by ultrasound using an ultrasonic device with a frequency of 25 kHz, and the second is chemical, represented by adding weak acids (citric acid, salicylic acid, and ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid). We immersed the samples in the system tank containing hard water for three months, until a layer of calcifications formed on the surface. Afterwards, we treated the samples using ultrasound technology, applying concentrations of (1%, 2%, 3%, 4%, 5%, 6%) of the used acids at a temperature of 40 °C. That using ultrasonic technology in conjunction with weak acids leads to positive results in removing limescale deposits in transport pipes. Specifically, citric acid proved to be the most effective in removing limescale deposits, as it showed a long period of effectiveness. The best concentration of citric acid was applied to a sample of heat exchanger pipes that had previously been exposed to limescale deposits, which prevents the metal from corrosion.
2024-08-23T00:00:00-06:00Copyright (c) 2024 Procedia of Engineering and Medical Scienceshttps://procedia.online/index.php/engineering/article/view/1391Reed Fibers Revolutionize Epoxy Composite Strength2024-05-14T02:26:59-06:00Haider H. Abbas50144@uotechnology.edu.iq
In recent years, natural fibers have gained significant attention from the global research community due to their advantageous properties over industrial fibers. This study investigates the impact of reed fiber reinforcement on the mechanical properties of epoxy composites. Despite extensive research on various natural fibers, there is a knowledge gap regarding the use of reed fibers in composite materials. This research aims to explore how reed fiber orientation affects the tensile and compressive strength of epoxy composites. Reed fibers, cut to 100 mm in length and 2 mm in width, were embedded in epoxy resin at orientations of 0°, 45°, and 90° using hand molding techniques. The samples were cured at 75°C and subjected to mechanical testing. Results indicated that fibers oriented at 0° provided the highest mechanical strength, while the 0°/90° configuration resulted in the lowest strength. This study highlights the potential of reed fibers to enhance the mechanical properties of epoxy composites, emphasizing the significance of fiber orientation in optimizing composite performance.
2024-05-15T00:00:00-06:00Copyright (c) 2024 Procedia of Engineering and Medical Scienceshttps://procedia.online/index.php/engineering/article/view/1396Assessing Intraoperative Findings in Morbidly Adherent Placenta Previa2024-06-30T10:36:08-06:00Rawya Mansoor Abdullahrawiaalani@gmail.comWasan Faisal Rashid Al-Azzawiw.f.rasheed7@gmail.comAfrah Naser Kadhim AlmusawiAfrahalmosawi@yahoo.com
This study aims to evaluate the complications and outcomes associated with adherent placenta previa in Iraqi women, highlighting a significant gap in understanding the intraoperative challenges of this condition. The adequacy of health education provisions will influence the attitudes and behavior of school children which will determine their health status, whether they will remain healthy or be at risk of experiencing health problems in the present and in adulthood. This descriptive qualitative research analyzes by examining and revealing the meaning or reality of Health Education carried out in elementary schools. This research was conducted in five elementary schools in the Bengkulu city area, using data analysis techniques including steps to reduce data, present data, draw conclusions for verification. Checking the validity of data by triangulating sources through activities to test the credibility of data. Triangulation techniques for data credibility by checking data against the same source with different techniques. The interview results are checked with documentation or observation. The research results of the UKS program have not been able to run optimally as seen from the policies and guidelines that do not yet exist and are well socialized to all school members. UKS supervisor teachers, PJOK teachers and guardian teachers have not fully implemented the UKS Trias and understood the indicators in UKS activities. UKS is still the full responsibility of the community health center. Students never receive intentional health education. Health education in schools has a significant influence on students' health behavior. Through targeted health education, students can increase their knowledge about health. Health education also plays an important role in changing behavior and has an impact on the adoption of healthy living behavior in students. Students who receive effective health education are more likely to adopt healthy lifestyle behaviors.
2024-07-24T00:00:00-06:00Copyright (c) 2024 Procedia of Engineering and Medical Scienceshttps://procedia.online/index.php/engineering/article/view/1430The use of shock wave therapy at the early stage ofrehabilitation in patients with cervical radicul2024-07-30T02:47:36-06:00Ramazanov Sh.Fsobirovajasmina12@gmail.com Pulatov S.Ssobirovajasmina12@gmail.com
The medical literature on neck pain was analyzed.
