Abstract

Self-determination has received much attention in the field of special education, but scholars have yet to understand how culturally and linguistically diverse students and their families respond to self-determination interventions. their knowledge about what they do remains limited. Understanding how a construct is perceived in different cultures is important given the diversity of society. This article reviewed existing research and scholarship examining the relationship between acculturation and self-determination in students.
